The Chicago History Museum boasts over 22 million artifacts that can fully encompass the visitor into not only Chicago’s rich cultural history but also the United States as a whole. The exhibits focus on what it was like living, working and governing the Chicago metropolitan area as well as the art, literature and notable individuals in Chicago’s history.
A new exhibit to the Chicago History Museum is not only educating visitors on the rich Chinese culture located in Chicago, it is also changing the way we experience museums. The exhibit is called My Chinatown and it focuses on real stories from those who still live in Chinatown today.Check out this link here. It also highlights the plights of the Chinese immigrants who moved to Chicago in the late 1800s. What is fascinating about this new exhibit is it is the first multimedia exhibit to ever be featured at the Chicago History Museum! This exhibit will allow the visitor to really feel like they are part of this Chinese culture by allowing them to experience the sights and the sounds of Chicago’s Chinatown.
If you are interesting in visiting a museum filled with cultural history, the Chicago History Museum is the right place for you. From fashion exhibits, to exhibits featuring foreign cultures, the Chicago History Museum truly has something for everyone.

Art can speak to us in many ways. It can tell a story, make us recall events in our lives and make us feel like we are right there in the moment. This can be done in several different ways, through music, a painting or by watching a movie or TV program. Children can use their imagination just by watching different programs, listening to a musical or even by drawing a picture and making it come to life.
Sculptures are another way for a story to come to life. The creator envisions an idea and creates a lifelike sculpture that makes everyone understand what he or she is thinking about. Making a story come to life means using any type of material such as paper, paint or even film and show others the story or idea through the design or creation. Galleries will even feature current as well as up and coming artists in exhibits and give the viewer their interpretation that makes a story or idea “speak” to us.
Stories come to life in many different forms. Whatever the artist wants to convey can be done through art, film or a painting so see what story you want to bring to life.

There are a ton of wonderful art festivals and events going on in town right now and we’d like to highlight a few of our favorites
Franken Plaza and Monster Bash: This event is inextricably linked with Halloween but it’s a great time to get out and see some performances in one of the coolest city plazas. It goes on for three days at the end of the month so get your tickets now.
Millenium Park: Before the weather gets too cold go for a stroll in Millennium Park where you can check out some of the city’s best permanent art exhibits. The Cloud Sky Gate is one of the best and there are tons of sculptures, too.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater: Art comes in many forms and the Shakespeare theater is one of the best ways to soak up the culture in one of the more museum-heavy cities in the country.

True art comes from the subconscious to open doorways for people to see aspects of life that have escaped us. When we partake in the exquisiteness that is art we are capable of transcending the world that we frequent and enter the world the artist has designed for us to bask in.

Partaking of the arts can be an overall experience of transformation. To the extent that we open ourselves to what could be revealed to us that will determine our experience. We become co- creators in the experience, what the artist has intentioned has become something unique unto us based on our perception. What the artist has depicted becomes a new world based up on our individual experience.

Art is evoking. It is a powerful healing and transformative agent that can be used in a positive way in this world of chaos and confusion. The world was gifted with talented artists to keep aspects of life alive that may otherwise be inhibited by certain facets of life. This is a dense world that is often negatively charged. Art has a way of balancing the negative and the positive aspects to create a new world of harmony, peace and beauty.
